Ayurvedic Cooking: Taste the Chakras

Date: Tuesday, November 19

Time: 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Ayurveda means “knowledge of life,” and it originated in India more than 5,000 years ago. It is the oldest continuously practiced health care system in the world, coming from an understanding of nature’s natural rhythms and working with the imbalances that show up as signs of disease in the mind and body.

Ayurveda embraces each person as an individual. Every person is born with a blueprint (constitution) of peak health and wellness. It is our lifestyles that either keep the balance or allow it to fall out of balance, creating illness and disease.

Ayurveda reaches far beyond the area of physical health, healing, and the prevention of disease, but can help each of us claim our authentic selves and align with our true nature. Through Ayurveda, we create awareness of body, mind, and spirit to strengths each of these aspects and offer genuine support wherever it is needed for balance.

In this class you’ll learn how to determine your unique body constitutions (dosha), and what foods and herbs to incorporate to support mind-body equilibrium.

You’ll also learn how these energetic principles and correlating foods can directly nourish each of the seven chakras (energy center) of the body.
