The Planets
meeting your actors
Now that you understand the basis of the Planetary actors its time to meet your own cast. Take your chart and each day of the week choose a single actor/planet to get to know and interview them as a journaling exercise. This is perfect as each day of the week is named after one of the seven inner planets.
Sunday- Connect with the sun, your soul, your inner fire- notice what things light you up, when people felt seen or warmed by your presence. Notice the times of day and the experiences that make you feel most yourself and closest to spirit. In the chart see how this can shed light on where maybe your sun is needing more nourishment. Ie. is your sun in Aries? you may feel closest to god when you are doing something new and dynamic, exercising, or leading.
Monday- Moon- connect with your emotional body, notice areas where you find emotional support, comfort, and a sense of belonging. Notice how your moon changes throughout the day- and what events, people, or experiences highlight this movement. Journal and ask your moon how it came up with the stories it tells you about your memories and life story. Ask it about your relationship to your mother and women in general.
Tuesday- Mars- desire, passion, drive and dynamism. On this day ask where Mars is needing to take action. What do you desire to serve in your life? What do you notice yourself defending, fighting for? How do you exert and assert your needs, how is the body wanting to move, the blood to circulate? Notice areas of frustration in your life, that want movement and action. When discomfort arises ask your Mars how you can direct this energy in a positive trajectory. Play with dance, music and song to ritualize and harness the energy of the warrior.
Wednesday- Jupiter- where do you find luck and optimism in your day? What areas of life make you feel generous, expansive, and jovial. Where may you have a tendency to overexert or give beyond your means? Where do you overindulge or take in too much information, food, work. See where Jupiter needs to expand and feel enlivened in your chart, and how you can balance this jovial nature with clear intention and boundaries. Spend time asking- if there were no limitations- where would I live, what would I study, how would I work, where would I love, and what would I believe?
Thursday- Mercury- connect with the mind, notice how your thought move, what influences them. Notice areas that the mind gets fixed, or how it gets scattered. Notice the words that come out of your mouth and how they may change dependent on the people or environment. Where do thoughts, ideas, inspirations come from? Talk out loud to yourself in the shower, or on a walk- allowing the mind to get out of the head. Watch your breath when it is shallow, or deep.
Friday- Venus- a day to relish in your pleasure. Like any lady that you are trying to woo- ask your Venus what her love language is. How does she wish to be seduced? What does she find beautiful? How does she feel that she can honor relationship to her environment, her friends, lovers and family? How does she create art and beauty in the world and honor the diversity of nature? Light a candle in the morning and take at least an hour in the day to do something purely for the pleasure of it- no outcome or agenda, just for the presence of it. Notice the areas of your body that soften, and open to receive- or areas that feel neglected and are needing the magic of love.
Saturday- notice areas in your life that may feel heavy but that you feel a sense of responsibility for. We often think of responsibility of something that is dense, but when we work with our Saturn we see that through not disciple but discipleship we lay the foundation and structure for all else to be supported in our lives. What are you responsible for in your life that will support the integration of what you desire to build and cultivate. What is your relationship to authority, governance, and power? True Saturn energy is where we find inner authority, trust in a higher power, and empower ourselves to live in alignment with our truth as the one governing power.
